This review dives into GTR Leads, an iPhone app designed specifically for lead capture, analyzing its functionalities, strengths, weaknesses, and suitability for various sales scenarios.

GTR Leads focuses on the core functionality of lead capture, offering the following features:

Strengths

  • Event Badge Scanning: Utilize your iPhone’s camera to scan business cards and automatically extract contact details, eliminating manual data entry.
  • Lead Qualification: Assign lead scores based on pre-defined criteria to prioritize leads with the highest conversion potential.
  • Analytics: Generate basic reports on lead capture activity to track progress and identify trends.

Weaknesses

  • Limited Functionality: Compared to more comprehensive lead capture apps, GTR Leads lacks features like built-in marketing automation tools, advanced reporting capabilities, or social media lead capture options.
  • Limited Customization: The overall design and user interface options for the app itself might be limited.
  • For Event Coordinators NOT Individual Users: The app is not ideal for managing leads within a sales teams or individuals since this app has to be purchased for a specific event by an event coordinator.
  • Unclear Pricing: Pricing information is not readily available on the App Store listing, requiring users to contact the developer for details.

Who should consider it.

GTR Leads caters to trade show event coordinators and managers to offer a solution for their exhibitors to capture leads. However, as an exhibitor, you cannot purchase it directly. It must be purchased and sanctioned by the event coordinator which really rules it out from a universal lead capture standpoint.

Alternative Lead Capture Apps

For sales teams requiring advanced features like lead nurturing, detailed reporting, or team collaboration functionalities, alternative lead capture apps might be more suitable. Here are a few alternatives.

  • Handshook: Shines at scanning all types of inputs you’d find at a trade show: event badges, business cards, and even digital business cards like HiHello, Blinq, Popl, and Dot card. Plus can find missing contact information on badges and connect with prospects on LinkedIn right from the app.
  • Romify.io – AI powered mobile app is compatible with both business cards and event badges which makes it super useful at a trade show. It links with your CRM but lacks some advanced features like the one above.
  • iCapture PowerScan: Other than Handshook, this app seems to be the next best thing available for lead capture and business card scanning but is more intended for scanning business cards and connecting with Salesforce. However, it doesn’t appear to be as compatible as Handshook or Romify.
  • CapleadA great introductory lead capture app with reasonable pricing but limits connections and is only compatible with business cards (no event badges).

Final thoughts

GTR Leads offers a basic and user-friendly solution for individual sales professionals to capture leads and assign basic qualification scores. However, it is only available for select events since it has to be purchased by the event manager. In addition, it only works with event badges, not business cards or QR codes.  As a result it isn’t a great solution for salespeople, marketers and event exhibitors seeking a more comprehensive lead management app.
